But she's glad to be here, always happy to be in the kitchen where all the magic happens— it isn't just microwaving boxed dinners, it's actual home cooked food and that's the only magic she'll accept in the world. ]

It wasn't too bad, after someone told me what to do.
[At little gross (it was his first time killing and prepping an animal like that), but he was able to get it done. It's for the sake of cooking, after all!]

[Akira is willing to put up with a lot in the interests of gaining a confidant making a friend, after all! And Mafuyu isn't the most contrary of people he's dealt with.
He nods, ladling out the soup into the colorless bowls they have around the house and setting some in front of Mafuyu. Then he takes his own seat.
He's going to wait to see what she thinks before trying it himself.]
[ Mafuyu claps her hands together in a quick prayer before she digs in. There's no point in asking her what she thinks about it, because it's written all over her face: a wide smile and bright eyes, several spoons into her mouth before she realizes it's still and quiet from the other side of the table and she looks up at Akira. ]

He feels pretty happy in his accomplishment, now that he knows she's happy with it. He takes a few bites himself - it's not the best thing he's ever made, in his estimation, but seeing her happy makes him happy.]
