Character Info

Character's Name: Mafuyu Kurosaki
Character's Canon: Oresama Teacher
Character's Age: 16
Canon Point: end of chapter 128/second year of high school
Background/History: incomplete wiki summary; rest summarized below--

Mafuyu's introduced as a delinquent who was caught fighting and subsequently expelled from school, transferring to Midorigaoka Academy with an ultimatum from her mother that she'll be disowned if she gets caught again. Thus, she's determined to appear as a "normal" girl, but it turns out to be difficult to restrain herself from jumping into fights. The first time she intervenes, she saves her childhood friend, former neighbor, and current homeroom teacher, who ropes her into joining the Disciplinary Club with one of her classmates, Hayasaka. The purpose of the club is a bet between Takaomi and the school's chairman: if Takaomi doubles the number of applicants over the next three years, he receives property rights to the school; if he doesn't, he loses several years of his paycheck and the school will be demolished.

The Disciplinary Club is pitted against the student council, of which the president is the chairman's son, while Mafuyu tries to keep up her act as a normal student, disguising herself with a rabbit mask or dressing up as a boy to fight freely without exposing herself, afraid if people find out she used to be a delinquent, they'll stop being her friend and will alienate her. She defeats and befriends the school's current gang leader Okegawa; reconciles with her old gang members who'd abandoned her and led to her arrest and expulsion; is joined by Aki, a student from Mafuyu's old school who almost outs her delinquent past; and the Disciplinary Club goes up against each student council member in turn:

- Yui, always following Hanabusa's orders without question, chooses the Disciplinary Club and his friendship with Mafuyu and Hayasaka over the student council, deciding something for himself for the first time in his life
- Kosaka, who always did things by the book, was made a fool of and learned to laugh at himself and be okay with it
- Houjou, strict and proud, comes to terms with Yui's defection and learns to rely on others
- Ayabe, burdened with guilt of abandoning his family and became antisocial as a result, befriends Mafuyu who drags him home to make up with his family, and starts to open up to others
- Nonoguchi, who abhorred boys after being bullied as a child for her storybook on princes, was saved by Mafuyu disguised as a boy and reconciled with her bully
- Yukioka, who would never speak because she didn't want to cause trouble for people, started using her voice again after meeting Aki and realizing she has to in order to communicate
- Momochi, who manipulates people and enjoys making them suffer, has her true twisted personality and cause of her behavior revealed by Hayasaka and Takaomi
- Finally, Hanabusa, who spent his high school years trying to protect his club members from Momochi, could finally let go and graduate with the assurance that everybody has grown with their encounters with the Disciplinary Club and could stand on their own without him anymore, thanking Mafuyu for being the crux of it all

Strengths:
camaraderie
Friendship is one of the driving forces in Mafuyu's life, and her tenacity in pursuing it leads her to befriend even the most unlikely people, from her delinquent neighbor who had picked her up by the hair and threw her across the street when she was really little, to the student council president who she had fought two years against until she learned the basis for his actions. Coming from a delinquent background herself and regretting that part of her past, she looks past appearances and believes that people have good hearts. She makes friends out of enemies after getting to know them, and even after she's betrayed more than once by her closest friends, she forgives easily in the face of a sincere apology and realization of wrongs, because she believes in her friends, taking their words at face value without considering ulterior motives.

confidence
Mafuyu has a very strong sense of self, direct and open in her pursuits, and is honest and straightforward in general. In her own words, if there is something she wants and it's right in front of her, she will simply reach out and take it, and that's the simplicity with which she lives much of her life. With an unrestrained energy that's largely due to her environment growing up where being forceful and lawless is the norm, she's used to doing what she wants and isn't afraid to be assertive when she needs to be, or to speak her mind when she believes strongly in something. She has very strong values of friendship, justice, love and peace— all things she holds to great importance and tends to live by without overthinking things.

banchou
As the former leader of her high school gang, Mafuyu has never lost a fight. She has terrifying physical strength and almost inhuman endurance, drawing people to her out of admiration of her strength and charisma— all unbeknownst to her, who had assumed everybody flocked to her because she was kind, looking after people and cleaning up their messes. To her old gang, she was somebody who they have utmost confidence in to win, who takes care of people and who they can go to for anything, who is always considered part of their family even after she was expelled. She's a very capable fighter and leader, and upholds a certain moral code: she tends to fight only when problems are brought to her or she sees somebody needing help, and believes it's unfair to gang up on one person (but will jump in and fight a dozen others by herself without batting an eye) or to bring weapons to a fistfight (although she will also jump in here with complete disregard to her own safety). Mafuyu is somebody who leads from the front as the spearhead, plowing her way through things so all those behind her need not worry.

Weaknesses:
pawn
Mafuyu's desperation for friendship makes her too eager to please, to the point of setting aside her safety and pride for others. She goes to extremes for Takaomi to hear his praise, despite putting herself in danger and enduring indoctrinated habits like barking and running on command, running petty errands, sitting seiza and apologizing with dogeza, fighting despite knowing she'll get expelled and disowned if caught. She's easily manipulated by Momochi, whom Mafuyu looks up to because she's pretty, and falls into this same trap with Hanabusa's younger sister, who treats her like a dog. Yet, she cannot retaliate, needing to be liked and feel useful; blinded by the hope of friendship, she's easily deceived, betrayed, and manipulated, repeated occurrences she doesn't learn from because she wants to believe in people.

loneliness
Her deep rooted fear of abandonment also makes her easily manipulated, as she was distanced from the rest of the student body all through elementary and middle school, aside from her gang. Everybody kept their distance out of fear, preventing her from having "normal" interactions. Even after transferring schools, Mafuyu goes to great lengths to hide her past, afraid that everybody would alienate her if they knew she used to be a gang leader, and pretends to be a weak and helpless girl to deceive them. Guilt eats away at her, driving her to create multiple personas— Usa-chan Man, the rabbit-masked superhero who fights for peace, love, and justice; and Natsuo, who took out the school's gang leader with one punch and instituted himself as the new leader— to act as her proxy in fights, lies that quickly get out of hand, but she's in too deep to back out. Although she eventually accepts people finding out, her need to preserve her image as somebody harmless and likable is used as blackmail against her multiple times, with her accepting the terms because she can't risk losing her friends.

uncouth
While Mafuyu is typically childish and carefree, only becoming serious when she's fighting for something she believes in, the rest of the time she acts like a punk, viewed by others to be undisciplined and foolish, annoying in her tenacity, having too loud a voice, fixated on the strangest things— exchanging cellphone numbers and saying good morning to people, wearing makeup for the first time and learning how to swim. People smiling at her! She cried at that, because no one's ever been kind to her and being blessed with the chance of normal relationships is almost overwhelming. There's a lot she never got to do growing up, on the account everybody being scared of her and her believing she had no friends, so she holds normal things up on a pedestal. But old habits die hard and she's still very quick to raise her fists and believe she can muscle her way through life's problems, often acting without much thought and getting into other people's businesses to shove her ideals in their faces.

Powers/Abilities:
- fighting experience; she's a normal human, with exaggerated manga strength explained by being forced to watch and learn how to fight when she was just six years old
- physical strength; enough to knock somebody out with one punch, or lift somebody bridal style with ease, or throw half a dozen people into the air after they tried piling on her
- endurance; jumps out of multi-story windows and brushes off the pain just by willing it away/telling herself it doesn't hurt
- fighting style, described as being very efficient with no wasted movements, typically utilizing kicks and punches; good at dodging
- fighting techniques include ukemi (recovering from a fall), deflection (redirecting attacks), misc. things like escaping from bound wrists/ankles, ninja techniques like mizugumo (tools to walk across water) and throwing shuriken
Other Noteworthy Traits:
- Morse code! it's a hobby
- incredible short term memory, e.g. memorizing phone numbers after a single glance, and entire textbooks word for word (as in, she can recite the entire book but there is zero understanding involved and the pronunciation is also wrong)
Weapons & Other Special Inventory:
On hand: school uniform, golden chain necklace, dragon wallet, Nekomata-san keychain, school bag (containing her notebooks, pencil case, Usa-chan mask, hair tie)
Extra: a messenger pigeon named Torikichi, although Mafuyu calls him "Josephine"; technically Okegawa's pet, but the pigeon is often with Mafuyu due to her and Okegawa being pen pals, so I'd like to ask if this would be allowed!

Color: Some shade of pink like #FF75A2, falling within the spectrum of red because Mafuyu is the typical shounen hero— passionate, hot-headed, the leader type— and this bold pink is the color of her Usa-chan mask, one of the disguises she uses in order to fight, representing her ideals of justice. It's also a stereotypical girl's color, and Mafuyu cries out of happiness every time somebody refers to her or treats her as a girl.
